Server will go down Friday 06/06/08 for simple repairs.  One of the cooling fans that cool the hard drives has failed and needs replacing.  I have to order that one.  While doing the maintenance, I found that the main power supply fan is going out to.  Since that one is very important I will be taking the server down to replace the fan inside the power supply.   Once the other fan comes I will announce the downtime for it.  There isn’t a set time of day that I will perform this maintenance.  Just a heads up when the server is not responding this will be why.  I expect less than an hour to repair.

Forum Update http://www.spraticnet.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=41 I am updating the paths to the new boards.  Please use the links at the top of this page to access the forums.  I'm also looking for someone who can design a phpbb3 style that matches the original SpraticNet site.  I have made a post about this in the General Discussions.  Forums Locked - Update http://www.spraticnet.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=39 I have locked the forums to make an attempt to get a successful conversion.  If the conversion us succesful, I will open the new boards.  If I find any bugs I will reopen the forums as they are and work on the conversion some more.


Kitek Forum and Site Update http://www.spraticnet.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=38 Just a quick update.  I have a complete working system for the new forums.  I will transistion things this week pushing it to live.  I will be contacting a few of you to do some final testing.  Then the new look for SpraticNet forums will launch and more exciting features to follow. Scheduled Site Outage http://www.spraticnet.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=37 This site will be coming down today to backup all data and to be moved to another server.  The reason for the move is for a wonderful thing.  As most know we are getting spammed by bots prett hard.  We have a new forum in place however our community is so large the server will not allow us to run few 100k queries to convert the database.  So I will be moving the site so this will not be a problem and we can put a stop to this spam.  You may also notice the forums may get locked during its part of the transition so that all current data will get moved over and once the final backup is complete anything done to the forums from that point wouldn't carry over.  This just ensures that it will carry over.  If you have any questions email me at kitek@spraticnet.com  This transition will start today.

I was  unaware that the Java IRC link wasn't working.  Please verify that its working for me.  This is a very useful tool for those of you that can't access certain programs from work.  It seems to work on my side but the server sits right beside me and dosen't prove much.  It's hard for me to fix small bugs If I'm not informed from the ones that have the problem.  Please test it for me and let me know if there are some problems.
